Finance Trust Bank (FTB) is now a Tier 2 Financial Institution that is regulated by the Central Bank of Uganda. The bank serves a clientele of over 300,000 depositors and over 37,000 borrowers, through a network of 34 branches countrywide. The bank offers a variety of Products and services including Savings, Current accounts, Loans, Money transfer services, and Bills payments to its target market which comprises of micro, small and medium entrepreneurs, salary earners and youth.
To meet the needs of its growing customer base, the company is seeking to recruit dynamic, self-motivated, result-oriented professionals to fill the following position.
OPERATIONS MANAGER BACK OFFICE
This position reports directly to the Head of Operations and will be based at Head Office.
Role of the Job:
Ensuring that Back Office business operations in treasury, trade finance, investments and system data integrity are conducted and approved in a manner that is risk mitigated by following laid down policies, processes and procedures of the bank and FIA guidelines without compromising customer experience.
Key Result Areas:
- Oversee the regular core banking system data cleanup and data integrity so that the bank is complaint to both the regulator and internal set standards in line with the data protection and Deposit Protection Fund and internal guidelines
- Oversee and Scrutinise customer static data change requests using the provided documents from the customer with the information in the core banking system and give approvals thereon before changes are made in the core banking system.
- Approve and oversee the Treasury and Trade finance back-office business in line with the bank approved limits and laid down investment standards and guidelines on a daily basis
- Ensure correct General ledger postings and end of day procedures of transaction compliance.
- Handle, respond and close regular Audit findings by BOU, Auditors, DPF, Risk and Compliancy in the section and the branches
- Recommend revised policies and procedures where there is need to be able to close gaps and catch up with the changing financial environment.
- Train, mentor, coach, supervise, guide and appraise staff under the section and in the branches so that they execute their tasks under laid down policies and procedures of the bank.
- Conduct any other business assigned by your supervisors that improves the bank business.
Minimum Educational and technical competence requirements:
- A University Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- Any additional qualification in Accounting, Financial Management, Statistics and Business analytics is added advantage
- Additional qualification in ACI operations certificate in treasury back office is an added advantage
- At least 4 years work experience in a supervisory position in a banking environment
- Advance Microsoft computer packages
- A good trainer
- Can interpret investment ratios
- A good problem solver
- Able to work extra time
- Able to support the team, branches and customers.
